Madrid preserves one of the most important historical helmets among European cities. The ancient architecture blends harmoniously with the most modern and comfort infrastructures. Highlights include the well -known historical center of “Madrid de los Austrias” and the impressive Plaza Mayor, opened in 1620 and considered one of the most popular and typical sites of Spain.

The city has 73 museums that cover all human knowledge. Include the Prado Museum, one of the most important art galleries in the world and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum, with more than 800 paintings, sculptures and tapestries that go from the Flemish Primitives to avant-garde movements.

The National Art Center Reina Sofia, dedicated to contemporary Spanish arts, including works by Picasso, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, and Juan Gris, among others is also a must-see destination for visitors to the capital of Spain.

Other sites of interest in the city are Plaza de Castilla and its whole skyscraper, the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium home of Real Madrid, the train station of Atocha, the Egyptian temple of Debod, the park Madrid Rio next to the Manzanares river, the park El Retiro in the heart of the city, El Rastro de Madrid (flea market) and the famous Puerta de Alcalá.

These places and many others attached to a world-class gastronomy make Madrid one of the most visited cities in Europe.
